Natural Remedies for Common Pre-Diabetic Symptoms

Pre-diabetics can often struggle with diabetic symptoms all of their lives if they don’t find a way to take care of themselves. There is still time to combat the symptoms, which may eventually lead to full fledge diabetes if not treated early. Many individuals seek homeopathic remedies to finally stop the onslaught of a very encumbering disease.

As a prediabetic, I have had the un-welcomed stress of many diabetic like symptoms. In an attempt to not only save money, but combat the issues myself, I have found several home remedies for common pre diabetic symptoms.

I am sure you have notices, as well as I, some signs you may be a diabetic. It is up to you whether you would like to visit a doctor to receive medical attention, or if you believe in the power of homeopathy like I do, I would suggest experimenting with a few natural remedies. Keep in mind that what works for some individuals does not work for all. I have had great success with these natural pre-diabetic remedies.

Don't get me wrong, I still have some healing to do as the traces of my symptoms are still lingering. It takes time to rid yourself of these ailments, so just follow my directions, and be patient. If you don't see any improvement using these natural remedies for prediabetic symptoms, consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Fungal infections or Yellow Toes

Many of you have children, and if you do, you most likely have a supply of Vick's Vapor Rub in the medicine cabinet. Well, I have found Vick's to be the most powerful of healing agents for toe fungus. Simply follow these directions every evening prior to going to bed and you should see some improvement in the yellow coloration on your toes.

Try this:

  1.  Make sure your feet are clean. Wash them with light soap and water and dry them completely with a soft towel.
  2. Apply a generous amount of Vick's Vapor Rub on the toe surface.
  3. Put on a clear pair of socks and sleep with the socks on all night.
  4. Follow this regime for at least a week and you should see immediate results.

Sores that will Not Heal

Raised and blistering sores do not go away without medical attention or homeopathy in diabetes patients. It's often cause by poor circulation. There are two different remedies you can try to begin the healing process. First of all, you need to get moving. In order to improve circulation you need to exercise. Talking a 30 minute walk 3 to 4 times a week is often helpful. Also, applying homeopathic creams and washes can also aid in the healing process.

Try this:

  1. Make sure the area around the sore is clean. Wash it with light soap and water and dry it completely with a soft towel.
  2. Take a 50/50 solution of Peroxide and cleanse the sore.
  3. Leave the peroxide on the sore for at least one minute.
  4. Now, and this is going to sound unorthodox mind you, take muscle rub (bengay or a generic brand from your local pharmacy or convenient store) and apply a dime size amount to the sore.
  5. Blend  in the muscle rub until it's completely dissolved.
  6. Make sure you wash your hand thoroughly after application.
  7. Follow this regime for at least a week and you should see immediate results.

Urinating excessively

Most of the time, the desire to urinate excessively is due to too much insulin in the blood stream. In many cases, it is because you have been consuming too much sugar. Personally, I cut my sugar intake in half. I also added some sodium in my diet (Kosher salt) to allow my body to conserve water. I know this is a tough idea to digest for many ladies, as we already have a high degree of water tension when we are menstruating. In my case, however,  it helped cut down the trips to the bathroom. It also takes the strain off the kidneys.

Exhaustion for no reason after eating certain foods

You may be asking, is there really a natural remedy for exhaustion? For a pre-diabetic, yes there is. I started a journal. I documented how I felt after I had consumed certain foods. If the foods had too much sugar, I found that my body would often shut down. I found the same thing happening when I ate certain carbohydrates. So here are the foods that helped me cut down on my exhaustion.

Try these foods and beverages:

  • Fiber-Fiber One Bars, Whole Grain bread and pasta, Cream of Wheat
  • Spinach
  • Splenda
  • Earl Grey Tea
  • Green tea
  • Fresh Roma Tomato
  • Garlic
  • Trail Mix-no chocolate
  • Almonds
  • Walnuts
  • Chock Full O'Nuts coffee
  • Non dairy creamer

Suffice it to say, not all of these remedies will work for you. Every person's body is different. The way in which your body treats certain agents and foods can be affected by your lifestyle. Personally, it took my body 6 months to finally get used to increased fiber and zero sugar. If you are a smoker, obese, have high blood pressure or high cholesterol, I can assure you that your body will take time to adjust, especially if you start adding in the foods I mentioned.

Hi Lauren, I have often used Vick Vapor Rub on my clients toes when I was working as a caregiver. You are correct. It helps tremenously. I tweeted this and recommended your article. Blessings, Chris

Eh, right there with you on the pre-diabetic symptoms.  My ankle has a cut on it that won't heal, but certain precautions can reduce symptoms and keep your blood sugar within normal range, right you are!  My biggest issue is fatigue and weight gain.

@Chris

Thank you so much for the recommendation.

@Amy

Yes, weight gain is a huge factor for me and it seems the older I get the harder it is to lose it. I even exercise pretty rigorously during the week and the weight just never goes away. The muscle cream is really working though.
